Job Summary
The Installation Technician is responsible for delivering, setting, and finishing monuments, headstones, foundations, and related memorial products at job sites. This hands-on field role requires strong mechanical ability, safe rigging and lifting practices, basic concrete and masonry skills, and outstanding customer-facing professionalism. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically fit, safety-focused, and able to work independently or with a small crew.
Core Responsibilities
Operate abrasive blasting equipment (blast cabinets, blast rooms, pressure blasters, media reclaim systems) to remove scale, paint, and other surface contaminants according to work orders and finish specifications.
Prepare parts for blasting: masking, hanging, fixturing, and staging for next process.
Inspect parts before and after blasting for surface quality and dimensional/visual defects, document and report issues.
Monitor and maintain blasting media levels, air pressure, and equipment settings for consistent finishes.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and cleaning (filter changes, nozzle replacement, media changes, dust collection checks).
Support related production tasks such as grinding, polishing, sand-and-seal operations, and basic welding/assembly as required.
Maintain accurate production records, logs, and quality checklists.
Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE (respirators, hearing protection, gloves, etc.). Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Assist with loading/unloading parts and moving product safely around the shop (may require forklift operation — training provided if needed).
Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3+ years’ experience in field installation, masonry, stonework, monument setting, or similar construction/installation role.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; comfortable driving trucks/trailers with occasional long distances.
Strong mechanical aptitude and competency with hand and power tools.
Ability to lift and maneuver heavy loads (regularly up to 75 lbs or more with team/rigging)
and to work in outdoor weather conditions.
Comfortable operating or learning to operate lifting equipment (forklift, hoist, skid steer/mini-excavator) — training provided as needed.
Strong attention to detail, ability to read basic plans/measurements, and good problem-solving skills on-site.
