Job Summary
The Installation Technician is responsible for delivering, setting, and finishing monuments, headstones, foundations, and related memorial products at job sites. This hands-on field role requires strong mechanical ability, safe rigging and lifting practices, basic concrete and masonry skills, and outstanding customer-facing professionalism. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically fit, safety-focused, and able to work independently or with a small crew.
Core Responsibilities
Transport monuments, bases, and hardware safely to job sites using company trucks/trailers; load/unload and secure materials for transport.
Prepare job sites, including layout, excavation for foundations/footings, leveling, forming and pouring concrete footings, and backfilling.
Install monuments and accessories plumb and secure using proper rigging, anchors, adhesives, grout, and shimming techniques.
Use lifting equipment and accessories (hoists, cranes, forklifts, straps, chains) and follow safe rigging procedures for large stone or bronze pieces.
Read and follow installation plans, job tickets, and customer specifications; confirm dimensions and tolerances on site.
Perform on-site finishing work: sealing, grinding, cleaning, and final touch-ups to ensure a polished appearance.
Communicate professionally with customers on-site regarding placement, expectations, and post-installation care.
Maintain and inspect company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment; perform routine maintenance and report defects.
Keep accurate installation records, take required photos, and complete paperwork for job close-out.
Adhere to all company safety protocols and OSHA requirements; and maintain a clean, organized worksite.
Assist crew members and help other production teams as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3+ years’ experience in field installation, masonry, stonework, monument setting, or similar construction/installation role.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; comfortable driving trucks/trailers with occasional long distances.
Strong mechanical aptitude and competency with hand and power tools.
Ability to lift and maneuver heavy loads (regularly up to 75 lbs or more with team/rigging)
and to work in outdoor weather conditions.
Comfortable operating or learning to operate lifting equipment (forklift, hoist, skid steer/mini-excavator) — training provided as needed.
Strong attention to detail, ability to read basic plans/measurements, and good problem-solving skills on-site.
